Job Description:In this job, I will be creating handmade objects, like pottery, glassware, textiles or other things. For fine artist, like painters, sculptors, and illustrators, they create original works of art. Artists create objects that are beautiful, thought-provoking, and sometimes shocking. Craft artists work with many different materials, including ceramics, glass, textiles, wood,

Salary Range: The median annual wage for craft and fine artists was $44,380 in May 2012. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than the amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $19,200, and the top 10 percent
earned more than $93,220.

Education Required: To enroll as an artist, you'll need to have a high school diploma. However, it's hard to get artistic skills, without some good education in fine arts. High school classes like art, shop, and home economics can help artists with some basic skills they would need, such as drawing, woodworking, or sewing.

What kind of environment will you work in:
The kind of environment I will work in will be in an office building, warehouses, or lofts. Other working environment can be in a private studios in their homes. Some artists share studio space, where they can work. Some artists may be exposed to fumes from glue, paint, ink and other material they can scent.

Outlook: The outlook is a growing field by 3 percent from 20122 to 2022, but it’s slower than the average for all occupations. Employment growth of artists depends in large parts on the state of the economy, because purchasing for art are optional. In addition, job growth for craft artists may be limited by the sale of inexpensive, mass-produced items designed to look like a handmade American crafts.
